10) One of the most expensive bottle of wine thus far was a
bottle of 1875 Chateau Margaux that was owned by Thomas Jefferson. The man that
owned it dropped it and was paid $225,000 by the insurance company.
9) Another expensive bottle of wine was an 1869 Chateau
Lafite Rothschild, which sold for $230,692 at an auction in Hong Kong.
8) California is in fourth place in terms of wine production
in the world, led by France, Italy, and Spain.
7) Women are generally better wine-tasters than men because
their sense of smell is better than men.
6) A ton of grapes can make about 720 bottles of wine, so one
bottle of wine uses about 2.75 pounds of grapes.
